Charles North Hunt (1765 - 1811)

Charles North Hunt was born in 1765 in St Andrew, Holborn, Middlesex, England and he was baptised on the 22nd August 1765 at St Andrews, Holborn, His parents Charles Hunt Esquire (1732 -1784) and Henrietta North (1740 - 1827) were living in Quality Court, near Chancery Lane, Holborn at the time of his birth. Henrietta North was born in Woodford, Essex to Thomas North (1690 - 1757) and Lady Mary Cox (1699 - 1774). Charles Hunt Esq (1732 - 1784) was born on the 20th March 1732 probably in Plow yard, Fetters Lane, Holborn the son of John Hunt, gentleman sometimes referred to as Captain Hunt, and Easter Salter (1710 - 1773).

At the age of 16 Charles North Hunt 1 on June 14 1781 was signed under John Grave of Furnival's Inn, Gentleman, as the son of Charles Hunt, attorney of his majesties Court of the King's Bench, to serve his articles as an attorney for 5 years. He married Mary Hughes Place on the 5th April 1787 at St Leonard, Shoreditch, London. They were married by Rev John Charles and the witnesses were George Limming and Henry Sparrow. From 1789 to 1799 the family lived at 8 Featherstone Buildings in St Andrew, Holborn where many of their children were baptised.

Charles North Hunt was admitted to Lincolns Inn on the 7th July 1794 and he was called to the bar on the 18th November 1799. Legal Directories list him as having chambers at 7 New Square, Lincoln's inn between 1801 and 1803.

He died in 1811 and was buried at St Andrew, Enfield in John Greene's vault in the North aisle on the 17th January. Probate was declared after his mother's death in 1827 and sworn by his son Charles North Hunt who gives father's previous address as Charlotte Street, Portland Place, Middlesex.
