St Peter Paul's Wharf was destroyed in the great fire of London in 1666 and this London area from the the early 1620's was besieged by the plague as seen by the burial records of St Peter. John Hunt lost one of his servants to the plague.

The children of Joseph Browne and Eleanor Browne formerly Hunt were:

Joseph Browne was baptised on 7th April 1622 at St Helen, Bishopsgate, London England the son of Rev Joseph Browne and Agnes. He married Eleanor on the 1st September 1661 in Saint Olave Hart Street, London, England. Further research is ongoing with this family.

On the 21st November 1678 John Hunt, Citizen and Brewer of of St Botolph Aldgate London bachelor about 23 years - actual age was 27 years - married Miss Mary Aldworth of St Helen's, London, spinster with her fathers consent at St Helen's, Bishopsgate, London, London, England. (FHL Film Number 37527, 942 B4HA.V.31) Mary Aldworth was born on the 6th July 1660 at St Helen's Bishopsgate, London and baptised on the 24th July at St Helen's aforesaid. She died on the 3rd October 1679 and was buried on the 3rd October at St Helen's Bishopsgate, London. Her father was Thomas Aldworth (1620 - 1681) of St Helen's, Bishopsgate, Citizen and Plumber of London. The son of Martine Aldworth who had died in 1672, Thomas Aldworth was County Councillor for Bishopsgate Within from 1669 - 1680 and had worked on five of the city of London churches as the plumber - cost 21,884pds -for Christopher Wren and he was also a Marine Insurance man and supplier of export goods to RAC. Mary Hunt nee Aldworth died on the 3rd October two days after her daughter Anne to John Hunt was born on the 1st October 1679.

Anne Hunt (1679) was baptised on the 1st October at St Botolph without Aldgate, London daughter of John Hunt and Mary of Houndsditch, London. She is the daughter Anne mentioned in the will above.

He married on the 13th October 1681, Elizabeth Green (1664 - 1693), daughter of John Green (1627 - 1705) and Elizabeth Middleton (1631 - 1673) , at St James, Duke's Place, City of London. Elizabeth Middleton was the daughter of Sir William Middleton (1603 - 1652) and Eleanor Harris (1615 - 1649). John Grene was the son of Giles Greene esq (1596 -1656) MP for Motcombe Regis and Corfe Castle, Merchant and Lawyer of Dorchester, Dorset and Elizabeth Hill (1600 - 1673) the daughter of William Hill (1583 - 1642) of Poundisford, Somerset and Jane Yonge (1584 - 1630) of Colyton, Devon, England. Their son Roger Hill married Katherine Greene, sister of John Greene.

John Hunt (1651 - Bef. 1719) wrote his will on the 9th July 1694 and he divides his estate into three parts. Firstly to his son John Hunt, secondly to his daughter Anne Hunt and thirdly to his daughter Elizabeth Hunt stating that they should inherit when they turn 21 years or marry whichever is first. All three of his children are under 21 years in 1694. He also leaves 10 shillings to his brothers William Hunt and Henry Hunt, and sisters Mary Hunt and Margarit (sic) Hunt and brother-in-law John Warters to buy rings. He leaves his father-in-law John Grene 20 shillings to buy a ring and Thomas Darwyn Esq commonly known as the Alderman 20 shillings and makes them executors of his will and requests that they look after his children. The will was witnessed by Samuel How, Jo. Morris and Jos. Weeks. Probate was declared on the 8th/9 February 1719 with further notation in the right column dated July 1722 which is very difficult to read but mentions Johannes Hunt, John Grene, Thomas Darwyn Esq, Elizabeth Taylor and James Taylor. The sense of it is illegible but problems have arisen as John Grene has died in 1705 and he is one of the executors.The Daily Courant London England March 24 1719 says that John Hunt died before March 24th 1719. The mystery remains of the two named sisters in his will - Margarit and Mary Hunt - possibly the wives of his twin brothers Henry and William Hunt.

John Hunt and Elizabeth Hunt nee Grene had the following children;

Elizabeth Hunt was baptised at St Botolph Aldgate in August of 1682 her parents John and Elizabeth Hunt of Houndsditch, London, London, England. According to her father's will she married a Taylor and we have a possible marriage to a James Taylor 27th October 1701 at Farnham, St Andrew, Surrey England but we can find no verification that this is the correct Taylor. She was 12 years of age when her father wrote his will in 1694.

John Hunt was baptised on the 3rd January 1685 at St Botolph Without, Aldgate, London, London, England to John and Elizabeth Hunt. He was 9 years of age when his father wrote his will in 1694.

Elizabeth Hunt nee Grene had died between 1685, (the birth of her son John) and 1694 as she is not mentioned in her husband's will, therefore both children were very young when their mother died and their half sister Anne a newborn when her mother Mary Hunt nee Aldworth died. Anne was 15 years when her father wrote his will in 1694.
John Hunt (born in 1655) is still alive on Jan 27 1702 when his father-in-law writes his will as he refers to his legacy of New River shares and leaves him 60 pds. John Hunt born in 1685 and baptised at St Botolphs, Aldgate married Easter Salter (1710 - 1773) and died in Hatton Garden, Middlesex, England in June 1750. He was buried at St Andrews, Enfield, Middlesex.
